After a fall filled with drama and tension and death threats and foreclosures, I’m looking forward to settling into the Mankato routine.  Living in one townhouse instead of two family members’ homes, a studio apartment, and a suitcase will be a relief.  The suitcase was really cramped and uncomfortable, so I’m looking forward to moving out of it.

In conjunction with the move, I am looking forward to spending less money on gas and on escapist distractions from my vagrant lifestyle.  And to eating more ramen.  Really, that stuff is good.  For $0.12, a bowl of steaming maggot-shaped noodles bathed in salt and MSG?  It’s the best deal going.  Okay, so that, and having a huge kitchen to cook from scratch in, and the co-op a few miles away to sell me fresh produce and beautiful free-range meats.  I am looking forward to not eating out so much.  It was hard on my finances and my arteries.
It’s good to be done with the first semester of school and of teaching.  I think I did okay.  Okay is pretty damn good for me.  So I’m pleased with that.
